The Stehman House Story

The Stehman-Wertz Mansion for which the Stehman House line is named still stands on the banks of the Susquehanna River in historic Washington Boro, Pa.

The grandiose home was erected by Joseph Stehman in 1814 and later conveyed to the Wertz family who owned the home from the 1830’s until the 1960’s.   Today, this privately owned residence stands as a proud reminder of the early accomplishments made by small-town Americans.

The small-town spirit lives on through the Stehman House line of handcrafted products.  All candles are made the old-fashioned way; hand-poured in small batches.   Each scent has its own story derived from local events, lore and legend.  It is our hope that each flame helps to rekindle old memories and help create new memories for generations to come!
